Desperate Times
I just did my quiet time, but that's not what's really on my mind. This is gonna be some reflective post, but not necessarily emo. just bear with me.
Actually yeah that was what I was gonna talk about. Emo posts.
Yesterday I was feeling bored so I went around from blog to blog... and it seems that nearly everyone (nearly) is really sad/stressed/depressed/worried. And so I wondered if I was the only one who was happy... I still don't really know the answer. I guess I'm content, but not HAPPY. There's something inside me that's probably eating me up, but I don't know what yet. Perhaps...I'm just ignorant. Ignorance might be bliss after all eh?
Anyway.. back to the point. As I was coming home from Fifi's place, (yes i was there. there's nothing much to say about that, other than halo and gears of war), I didn't know what to listen to, so I put my iPod on shuffle, then out popped SOMETHING by Killswitch Engage. Not sure what song it was though.
Something inside me told me to turn off shuffle and listen to the whole album. YEs, i was enjoying it and headbanging slightly on the bus... but when it came to the song Desperate Times, I actually listened to the lyrics. The chorus, since that's the only part I can make out, cos Howard's (Jones not Tan) not growling.
It said... "In these desperate times, this I plead; If all else fails, remember Me."
Yes, I did know KSE was supposedly a "Christian" band... so I immediately thought of it in that way. Only a while later did it occur to me that it's so relevant to what i was doing the previous night! I believe it really was the Holy Spirit inside me guiding me telling me to listen to the whole album..
So yeah, this is basically just a word of... advice? Or rather encouragement.
You can't be the most stressed person. There's always someone who is/was/will be more stressed than you. Perfect example: Jesus on the cross. NO ONE, and I do mean ABSOLUTELY NO ONE can feel as much pain as he did. Not only was he going through physical pain, but he felt the ENTIRE WORLD'S SIN AND BURDEN put onto him as he died.
And always, if you ARE feeling down, you can always come to Him in prayer and/or worship...He'll always be there.
If all else fails, remember Him. :)
Can't believe it..
Hahahaha mining tin and copper is SOOOO much fun. Well anything is fun when good ol' fifi is there with you huh. Fifi is simply epic.
Hmm... where did I last leave off? OH YES. Just before service right? Then I shall start with service. Which was simply epic.
In a nutshell: Mindblowing. Seriously, Pastor Kong must REEALLY be blessed by the Lord to see those kinds of things. Either that or he did A LOT of research. Actually I think it's both... The Chinese people really did worship the same God as the Hebrews... Yeah if you weren't there you're probably going "What? Chinese Hebrew?" Ah well a bit hard to explain here la. Just come next week hahaha!!! I can still remember Gerald's expression.... it was a cross of :O and :D. He was so awed and was smiling at the same time during the sermon. Epic I tell you. Simply epic.
And yeahh... after that was dinner, and we went to Paya Lebar! Of ALL places, since it's probably not crowded. And it turned out to be REALLY ulu. Ling was the only girl there... so she was feeling a bit weird (even though i could count as a girl). And Richard probably felt really freaked by the craziness of the ACS I guys. Hao cher and Greg... you guys are epic. Simply epic.
Nothing happened at all on Sunday. And Monday too. Except that my dad gave me the biggest angpau i can remember. A blue and a red yusof. THANK YOU DADDY! Love you. (: Simply epic.
Today was the first jamming session with HOWARD!!! *applause* Yeah he's (WAY) better than dave when dave joined us... but i don't really know how good Dave is now, as i can only gauge from random drumming on the table. But there wasn't much jamming to do. We ATTEMPTED the kill by 30 seconds to mars... but howard couldn't get the coordination right. His hihat hand kept spasming. And Iron Man just ended up in fail. For all 3 of us. Ah well. On the way out of Howard's I saw his dad's FENDER STRAT. LOLOLOL!!! Hahahaha fifi just wants it for the whammy bar. Simply Epic.
Well all the peeps who went to Malaysia for CNY are back! (except my dear darren..:'( ).
So welcome back Val! Gen! Yi Xuan! Zheng Da! Joey! umm i hope i didn't forget anyone. And here's a welcome back (in advance) Darren and Kenneth! Whoo! Okok. I hope the next few days are gonna be OSSIM. Especially the weekends. I know they will be.......................
Epic. simply.
Yay It' CNY!
Yesterday...wasn't as screwed up as i pictured it. The situation itself is just intriguing. Telling people why I couldn't go out with them on friday...
"I'm going out to follow MANHAUR and my ex... to go shopping for her new boyfriend's birthday present."
Fifi: "Just pon la. Don't go."
Me: "SEOW AH! WAN ME TO LEAVE MANHAUR ALONE WITH MY EX! YOU WANT THERE TO BE WHAT...5 PREGNANCIES AT ONE TIME?"
Hao Cher: "5 is.. a bit of an understatement..."
Actually yesterday was quite fun.. I met Yuan Jun, who's a nice random funny guy... "I can tell that the next train is coming soon. I can feel the rumbling.."
Dave kept making flat jokes... And i don't mean that the jokes were flat... "I carry around this file to empathise with celine."
And me and the manwhore. Sorry, MANWHORE AND I, kept taking turns at slave duty, carrying around the eupho... Celine you owe us.
And after that when Cel and YJ went for the party, dave and i didn't wanna CRASH so we went to makan at some random indian shop near his house. and then went to play a random dota match with VENOMANCER.
OOOkay i think that is it for now. I doubt i'll post bout the rest of the OEP days anytime soon, if at all.
Yay GONNA GO CNY SERVICE IN A WHILE. SEE YOU, sexy peeps.
Random!
Time for a random rant...
Why is the sky blue?
BECAUSE BLUES IS THE BEST GENRE OF MUSIC EVER!!! WHATEVER YOU LISTEN TO ORIGINATED FROM THE BLUES! unless you listen to classical or baroque or other traditional music.
Why is pee yellow?
Because YELLOW is an awesome song by coldplay! althought that HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO AT ALL WITH PISS! other than the video being shot at a beach and you can see teh OSHUN.
30-minute jazz odysseys with fifi on the bus are so awesome!!! whoo praise GOD for improvisation!!! much better than watching the three terminators in a row!
OK i shall end this awesome random post with A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT from the republic of Gjern...
Kids, it's not right to touch each other in any place. It is bad! and will EMOTIONALLY scar the other person, causing him/her to grow up with two extra bones in his/her spine and with a fear of peanut butter. But remember to ESPECIALLY NOT touch each other in any musuem or antique shop. You can clearly see the signs. NO TOUCHING!
Good night all of you expert fishermen! (master baiters) FAREWELL!
BACK IN SINGAPURA!
Day 0
Met the peeps at koffeh bin and tee liv at the arepot. And when fifi came we went to buy onion (union) rings and coke! And that was where he coined the term "lol people". It's really insulting to those people so i shall not say what it means here. Anyway, after checking in and immigration we went to burger king again for some weird reason. The plane ride was so awesome...listening to the jazz station! I was thinking "wtf this song is in fallout 3!"
After touching down in Ho Chi Minh, we met HOANG! and we went straight to "The First Hotel" where shaun and nikhel switched rooms for the sake of practising I'm Yours and Here Wihout You.
Day 1
Started the day off with visiting the GoVap orphanage. I think it's called that. I can sympathise with the children there.. some were deformed/mutated ( i dunno the proper word to use) by some chemical called Agent Orange during the war. Or their parents were. So they grew up differently.. Anyway it was all relaxed and stuff... me and Shaun went around playing random songs for them, especially I'm Yours since it's so happy. I played without a strap so i ended up resting it on my leg which rested on my other leg, and that leg had to balance. hahaha!!! We ended up sitting down at some other room playing all the songs shaun knew. Improvisation for the win!
The war museum after that was interesting... i really liked the sculptures and photos. probably cos i'm so ARTSY and whatnot. And i just realised that a fighter plane is bigger than a tank. what the pong.
Then we went to visit the Le Quy Don high school, where I was antisocial and barely talked to anyone hahaha! Hahaha seeing zachary get mobbed by the two girls was quite funny. And then i performed I'm Yours with Shaun, and i dount anyone could hear me improvise my shite. Even if they could they were probably listening to Shaun's lol singing. So epically HIGH!
The reunification palace after that wasn't that interesting. However Fifi did have two epic moments there. On the rooftop, within one minute of each other. Firstly, Joshua bought Pepsi and then was like "What's this black stuff?" then Fifi said "MAYNE IT'S PEPSI!" ah... classic Fifi. Then we were looking at the garden/lawn thingum outside and Jeremie shouted "POKEBALL!" I was "WTP??" and then he pointed out that the lawn was a huge circle with a tiny circle in the center and a horizontal line running through it.
And people were singing Rooftops by Lost Prophets...
After that was Ben Thanh Market! But because of the Great Jeremie, everyone just calls it Ben 10. Avery's bargaining is quite epic...
Avery: "70, 000."
Woman: "No, small one is 70, 000"
Avery: "Ok bye." *walks away*
Woman: *grab avery's arm* "OKOK 70, 000!"
Yeah epicness. I bought awesome pink sunglasses, a few random dolls/statues, a few of those star t-shirts, a random balloon flour toy, and a cap(which i lost). The Pho Bo (Beef noodles) at Pho 2000 was ORGASMIC!!!! Now i really understand why people say Vietnamese beef noodles are awesome.
OKOK i think that's enough for today. I shall continue sometime in the future.
Till then, ADIOS! (i dunno what goodbye is in vietnamese)
Hai Guyz.
Feeling emotionless but stressed at the same time. And there's nothing to be stressed about. Maybe it's the C math i just attempted to do. I hate math, don't you? I can't seem to factorise for nuts. Curse you, simultabeous equations...
Perhaps it's the thought in the back of my mind that i'll be leaving Singapore in less then 48 hours. D: SINGAPURA FTW! and ya i'll have to miss cell and service this weekend, maybe that's it. Oh well look on the bright side eh? Chee and I are gonna hold prayer meetings every night (hopefully) during OEP! HALLELUJAH! i just hope people will be able to get closer to God, and perhaps a few non-believers will get saved. who knows?
And yes speaking of the bright side, I brought lotsa (i use the term loosely) people to Christ this past year! Actually it's the only year i brought people! Actually it's only 4. but better than nothing eh? since the last post it's been 2 people! And I have a feeling they'll do lots of great things for God. :D
Okay... i shall not dwell on the past! all you need to know is that i celebrated new year's eve in a... special way. You have listened to me babble on for so long now, i shall leave you all be.
PEACE OUT!
(wow i actually feel better now)
