Desperate Times
I just did my quiet time, but that's not what's really on my mind. This is gonna be some reflective post, but not necessarily emo. just bear with me.
Actually yeah that was what I was gonna talk about. Emo posts.
Yesterday I was feeling bored so I went around from blog to blog... and it seems that nearly everyone (nearly) is really sad/stressed/depressed/worried. And so I wondered if I was the only one who was happy... I still don't really know the answer. I guess I'm content, but not HAPPY. There's something inside me that's probably eating me up, but I don't know what yet. Perhaps...I'm just ignorant. Ignorance might be bliss after all eh?
Anyway.. back to the point. As I was coming home from Fifi's place, (yes i was there. there's nothing much to say about that, other than halo and gears of war), I didn't know what to listen to, so I put my iPod on shuffle, then out popped SOMETHING by Killswitch Engage. Not sure what song it was though.
Something inside me told me to turn off shuffle and listen to the whole album. YEs, i was enjoying it and headbanging slightly on the bus... but when it came to the song Desperate Times, I actually listened to the lyrics. The chorus, since that's the only part I can make out, cos Howard's (Jones not Tan) not growling.
It said... "In these desperate times, this I plead; If all else fails, remember Me."
Yes, I did know KSE was supposedly a "Christian" band... so I immediately thought of it in that way. Only a while later did it occur to me that it's so relevant to what i was doing the previous night! I believe it really was the Holy Spirit inside me guiding me telling me to listen to the whole album..
So yeah, this is basically just a word of... advice? Or rather encouragement.
You can't be the most stressed person. There's always someone who is/was/will be more stressed than you. Perfect example: Jesus on the cross. NO ONE, and I do mean ABSOLUTELY NO ONE can feel as much pain as he did. Not only was he going through physical pain, but he felt the ENTIRE WORLD'S SIN AND BURDEN put onto him as he died.
And always, if you ARE feeling down, you can always come to Him in prayer and/or worship...He'll always be there.
If all else fails, remember Him. :)
